Bio
Recruited from Dandenong, Peter Marshall was a defender who faced the difficult task of breaking into a formidable Collingwood lineup during the early 1960s. He spent his first four seasons on the fringe of senior selection, managing just ten games as he battled for a permanent spot in the Magpies' backline. His perseverance paid off in 1965 under coach Bob Rose, where he enjoyed a breakout season, playing 13 matches and featuring in the club's First Semi Final victory over Geelong. Despite finally establishing himself in the finest form of his career, Marshall's time at Victoria Park concluded at the end of that season aged just 22. He is the grandfather of former Geelong midfielder James Parsons.
