Bio
A towering utility who found his best football in the West, Peter Melesso began his career with a solitary senior appearance for South Melbourne in the club's final year before relocating to Sydney. After struggling to cement a spot during three seasons at St Kilda, he moved to the WAFL and became a key pillar in a dominant Claremont premiership side, eventually prompting West Coast to recruit him with pick 108 in the 1988 National Draft. Melesso offered the Eagles a strong contest in the air at both ends of the ground, but just as he appeared to be establishing himself in the senior side, his professional career was prematurely ended by a diagnosis of lymphatic cancer during the 1990 season.
