Bio
Recruited from West Perth, Peter Pettigrew was a mobile key position player who made an immediate impact upon arriving at Victoria Park. He is best remembered for being thrust into the spotlight during his debut season, where he started at centre half-forward in the famous 1970 Grand Final against Carlton after playing just a handful of senior matches. Despite that high-pressure beginning, Pettigrew struggled to command a regular place in the Magpies' starting eighteen over the following two years, largely operating on the fringes of selection. He departed Collingwood at the end of 1972 to return to the WAFL, where he resumed a successful career with the Cardinals.
