Bio
Recruited from Narrandera in the Riverina, Peter Quirk was a New South Wales zone selection who joined the Sydney Swans during the club's flamboyant private ownership era in the late 1980s. He made his senior debut in the opening round of the 1987 season against Collingwood at Victoria Park, breaking into a lineup that was heavily bolstered by high-profile interstate recruits like Greg Williams and Gerard Healy. A fringe utility player used primarily to provide depth, Quirk managed sporadic appearances over two seasons as the Swans navigated a period of financial instability and on-field inconsistency. Despite his perseverance in the reserves, he was unable to cement a regular spot in the senior 22 and was delisted at the conclusion of the 1988 season.
