Bio
Recruited as a promising teenage tall, Peter Rumney broke into the St Kilda senior side as an 18-year-old during the club's competitive window following their 1966 premiership. Standing 187cm and weighing nearly 90kg, he possessed a frame ready-made for senior football, allowing him to compete physically against more experienced opponents. Rumney was utilised primarily as a key position utility, capable of holding down a defensive post or providing a contest in the air, though he struggled to secure a permanent role in a settled lineup. After managing just five games across two seasons, he was unable to consolidate his place at Moorabbin and left the VFL scene at just 19 years of age.
