Bio
Hailing from Dookie in the Goulburn Valley, Peter Ryan arrived at St Kilda as a mature-age recruit, making his VFL debut at 27 years of age in the opening round of the 1919 season. He was immediately injected into the senior side as the league returned to full strength following World War I, operating as a forward option for the Saints during the first half of the year. Ryan featured in the first seven consecutive matches of the season, booting three goals and appearing to settle into the pace of VFL football. However, he lost his place in the lineup by mid-year and was unable to force his way back into the senior 22, leaving his brief seven-game stint as his sole contribution to VFL history.
