Bio
Emerging from the Parkdale nursery, Peter Slade was a promising rover who progressed through Melbourne’s traditional development pathways, notably skippering the club's Under-19s side in 1973. He graduated to the senior list the following season, breaking into the side to play 15 games as a small midfielder during a bleak 1974 campaign where the Demons managed only three wins. Despite earning a consistent run of matches at the top level in his debut year, Slade was unable to retain his spot on the senior list for 1975. He spent the subsequent season in the reserves before departing the VFL system to forge a solid tenure in the VFA with Mordialloc, eventually finishing his playing days with West Canberra.
