Bio
A highly rated junior talent from North Adelaide, Peter Turner entered the AFL system with significant expectation as the captain of South Australia’s Teal Cup team and an Under-17 All-Australian. He was added to the Adelaide Crows' inaugural list as a teenager in 1991, but the club adopted a patient approach with the developing key position player, keeping him in the SANFL for several seasons. Standing 194cm, Turner finally broke through for his senior debut in 1994, playing three games as a forward options in a struggling Crows lineup. Seeking greater opportunity, he was traded to Carlton at the end of that season in exchange for a draft pick. However, Turner found himself stuck behind a formidable spine of stars like Stephen Kernahan and Stephen Silvagni at Princes Park, managing just two senior appearances in navy blue before his AFL career concluded.
