Bio
Recruited from Parkdale, Peter Williamson was a mobile ruck-forward who tasted success early at Melbourne, playing in the club's 1971 Under-19s premiership side before making his senior debut as a 17-year-old. While he possessed the talent to impact the scoreboard—highlighted by a career-best five-goal haul against Fitzroy in 1974—he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, often dominating at the lower level where he won the Reserves Best and Fairest in his final season. After a brief stint in the VFA with Mordialloc, Williamson relocated to Canberra and forged a significant legacy in the ACTAFL, captain-coaching Queanbeyan and featuring in the territory's historic representative victory over the VFL in 1980.
