Stats
Bio
Recruited from Oakleigh in the VFA, Peter Wood was a diminutive utility who arrived at the Western Oval in the late 1950s. Standing just 173cm, he broke into the senior side for his debut season in 1959, playing eight games and appearing capable of handling the rigours of VFL football. However, opportunities proved scarce over the following two years as he struggled to cement a regular spot in a strengthening lineup. Although he managed four appearances during the club's historic 1961 campaign, Wood was unable to force his way into the team that eventually contested the Grand Final against Hawthorn. He departed the league at the end of that season, finishing his brief VFL career with 14 games and no goals.
