Bio
A product of the Bellarine Peninsula, Phil McQueen was a Portarlington local whose football ambitions were effectively put on hold by the outbreak of the Great War. After serving his country overseas with the 6th Field Ambulance, McQueen returned to Victoria and was finally granted an opportunity at the highest level with Geelong in 1920. Already 25 years old by the time he made his VFL debut, he was brought into the senior side late in the season as the club looked to stabilise its list during the post-war era. McQueen managed just two appearances for the Pivotonians, booting a solitary goal during his brief stint at Corio Oval before drifting back into regional football obscurity.
