Bio
Recruited from Collingwood CYMS, diminutive rover Phil Nagle arrived at Punt Road as a promising talent who quickly found his feet at senior level. After debuting late in the 1941 season and featuring in a semi-final, his career was abruptly interrupted by four years of Army service during World War II. Nagle returned to the Tigers in 1946 but faced a turbulent start, earning a four-match suspension for striking Fitzroy's Noel Price in the opening round. Standing just 165cm, he was a dangerous option around goal who played above his size, notably claiming the 1941 Reserves Best and Fairest and a 1946 Reserves premiership. Unable to cement a long-term senior spot after the war, he departed Richmond to captain-coach Deniliquin in the Echuca Football League.
