Bio
Originally elevated from the rookie list, Quinten Lynch developed into a cult figure at West Coast, affectionately known as the "Q-Stick." An imposing centre-half forward with a thumping right boot, he became famous for his unique routine of discarding his glove before taking a set shot. Lynch was a vital component of the Eagles' powerful mid-2000s era, leading the club's goalkicking in their 2006 premiership campaign and again the following season. While often recognised for his size and strength, his surprising endurance allowed him to transition into a roaming role further up the ground, occasionally providing relief in the ruck to utilise his big body around stoppages.
As West Coast regenerated its list, the emergence of Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling eventually squeezed Lynch out of the preferred forward setup. Exercising his rights as one of the AFL's early unrestricted free agents, he moved to Collingwood ahead of the 2013 season to extend his career. At the Magpies, he served as a structural utility, splitting time between the forward line and the ruck to support the club's tall stocks. He retired at the end of 2014 as a West Coast life member, remembered best for his physical presence and his contribution to the Eagles' third flag.
