Bio
Recruited from the Richmond reserves after failing to break into the senior side at Punt Road, Ralph Goullet arrived at Hawthorn in 1928 seeking greater opportunity. Standing 183cm, which was a significant height for the era, he operated primarily as a ruckman for the Mayblooms during a particularly difficult period for the young club. His lone season at Glenferrie Oval saw him feature in 14 matches, though the struggling side failed to record a victory in any game he played. Goullet eventually found his footing and significant success in the VFA, crossing to Northcote where he became a key figure in their golden era, playing in three consecutive premierships from 1932 to 1934 and leading the side to the third flag as captain-coach.
