Bio
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Anderson was a diminutive rover recruited from South Yarra who brought energy and dash to the Essendon lineup. Despite his small stature, he was viewed as a courageous competitor—often described as a "game bit of stuff"—though he struggled to impact the scoreboard, finishing his career without a goal. He was a regular fixture during the 1910 and 1911 home-and-away seasons but suffered the heartbreak of missing out on Essendon's 1911 premiership finals campaign. Unable to cement his place in a premiership-calibre side, he transferred to University for the 1912 season, where he managed just three final appearances for the Students before his VFL career concluded.
