Bio
Recruited from South Adelaide as a highly touted teenage prospect, Randall Bone entered the AFL with the physical attributes of a prototypical key position player. He made an immediate impact for the Crows, kicking three goals on debut in 1992, but struggled to convert that initial promise into a permanent spot in the senior lineup. Seeking greater opportunity, he was traded to Hawthorn ahead of the 1995 season, where the Hawks hoped his 194cm frame would bolster their ruck and forward stocks. While he developed a minor cult following at Glenferrie Oval, Bone ultimately found it difficult to bridge the gap between reserves dominance and consistent AFL performance. He operated primarily as a depth player capable of pinch-hitting in the ruck or resting forward, managing just 16 games in four years at Hawthorn before his career concluded in 1998.
