Bio
Recruited from local side Burnley, Ray Bloodworth was a defensive utility who found senior opportunities scarce during his brief stint at Punt Road. Standing 178cm, he played primarily as a full-back or half-back but was restricted to just two VFL appearances—one in 1955 and another in 1956—both times starting on the bench as a reserve. While unable to cement a spot in the senior 22, he enjoyed success with the club's seconds, playing a key role in Richmond's 1955 Reserves premiership victory over Footscray. Following his time at Tigerland, he transferred to Camberwell in the VFA before eventually returning to his original club, Burnley.
