Bio
Recruited from Horsham in the Wimmera, Ray Harrip was a solidly built centreman who arrived at Geelong during a significant rebuilding phase for the club. With the Cats moving on from their premiership heroes of the early 1950s, Harrip was handed immediate responsibility, selected to debut in the centre for the opening round of the 1957 season against Footscray. He played four senior games in his solitary VFL season, stepping into a midfield group that was in flux due to injuries and list regeneration. Harrip's brief career at Kardinia Park concluded at the end of the year, leaving him as one of the qualified country recruits trialled during the club's transition period in the late 1950s.
