Stats
Bio
Ray Harvey was a diminutive but highly talented rover who arrived at the Demons with significant junior accolades, most notably the 1948 Morrish Medal as the VFL Thirds' best and fairest player. After progressing through the ranks and featuring in the 1949 Reserves premiership side, he earned a late-season senior call-up, booting two goals on debut against St Kilda at the MCG. Despite showing immediate promise at the top level, his VFL tenure was surprisingly brief; Harvey requested a clearance to Prahran the following pre-season, effectively trading a potential League career for VFA stardom. He went on to become a titan of the Association, playing over 140 consecutive games and winning four best and fairest awards for the Two Blues, validating the talent he briefly flashed in the red and blue.
