Stats
Bio
Recruited from local feeder club Preston Juniors, Ray Keegan was a tall forward pocket who offered a different aerial dimension to the traditional small crumbing forward of the era. Standing 183cm, he was capable of playing as a marking target inside 50, providing a chop-out for the key position players during the post-war years. He broke into the Collingwood senior side in Round 5, 1947, and held his spot for the remainder of the season, booting 10 goals in his debut year. However, his opportunities at Victoria Park dwindled early the following season; after making just six appearances in 1948, he left the VFL mid-year to find consistent senior football. Keegan crossed to the VFA to join Prahran, where he played out the remainder of his career as a solid contributor until retiring in 1950.
