Bio
Recruited from Thornbury, Ray Murnane was a solidly built utility who struggled to cement a regular senior spot during his two seasons at Victoria Park. While he managed just half a dozen appearances for the Magpies in the VFL, he found significant success after crossing to the VFA to join Preston. Murnane became a key figure for the Bullants during their golden era in the 1960s, playing nearly 100 games and booting over 100 goals as a dangerous option in attack. His tenure at the club was highlighted by playing in both the 1963 and 1965 premiership sides, establishing a legacy as a dual-premiership player at Association level.
