Bio
Recruited from Broadford, Ray Ross was a rover and wingman whose brief VFL career was bookended by a seven-year absence from the elite level. He made his senior debut for Richmond in the final round of the 1922 season, kicking a goal against St Kilda, but immediately returned to the bush the following week to play in Broadford's finals campaign rather than pursue a permanent spot at Punt Road. After a long hiatus in country football, Ross resurfaced at St Kilda in 1929 for a solitary match, finishing his time in the League with the unusual distinction of playing just two games almost a decade apart.
