Stats
Bio
Developing through the club's thirds program, Ray Whitzell was a towering ruckman who stood an imposing 196cm, a rare height for footballers of his era. He earned his promotion to the senior list during the 1960 season, making his VFL debut against Carlton at Princes Park. While his physical attributes suggested a promising future as a key position player, his time at the top level was fleeting, limited to a three-game block in the middle of the year. Whitzell was unable to cement a permanent spot in the Bulldogs' lineup and departed the VFL scene shortly after his brief taste of senior football.
