Bio
A survivor of the Gallipoli campaign where he was wounded in action, Reg Berry joined St Kilda from Bendigo City as the VFL looked to rebuild its playing stocks following the Great War. Making his debut in 1918, he brought a hardened edge to the Saints' lineup, operating effectively as a utility capable of drifting forward to hit the scoreboard. Although his career was limited to just two seasons at the Junction Oval, Berry played a role in stabilising the side during the difficult post-war transition period. He departed the league at the end of 1919, leaving a legacy as one of the many soldier-footballers who helped the game recover its standing after the armistice.
