Bio
Recruited from Quambatook in the Mallee region, Reg Gross endured a stop-start VFL career with Geelong that spanned seven years but yielded just 16 senior appearances. Standing 180cm, he was a solid defensive unit capable of playing key positions or filling a role in the back pocket, though he often found himself on the fringe of selection during the 1930s. His time at Corio Bay was punctuated by significant absences, managing games in his debut 1933 season and 1935 before returning to the country, only to answer a final call-up in 1939. Despite never kicking a goal at the highest level, Gross served as a reliable depth player who could step into the backline when injuries struck, eventually retiring to the Bendigo region after his final stint in the hoops.
