Bio
Recruited from local junior club Beverley, Reg Hede became a fixture in the Richmond line-up during the World War I era. A dashing and courageous player who alternated between the back pocket and the wing, he was known for his determination in the contest and ability to repel opposition attacks. Hede etched his name into Tigerland history as a member of the club's breakthrough 1920 premiership side, playing in the back pocket during the Grand Final victory over Collingwood, having also featured in the loss to the Magpies a year earlier. Despite playing six games in the 1921 season, he transferred to Camberwell midway through the year, missing out on the club's back-to-back triumph but securing his legacy as one of the Tigers' original premiership heroes.
