Bio
Recruited from Caulfield District, Reg Renwick was a tall utility who arrived at Brunswick Street with a substantial 187cm frame, making him a genuine big man for the era. Standing 6'2", he was capable of playing as a ruckman or a key forward, impressing observers with his overhead marking ability during pre-season trials. He broke into the Fitzroy senior lineup midway through the 1953 season, playing three consecutive games as the Maroons looked to bolster their height in the contest. However, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the starting 18 and was unable to impact the scoreboard during his brief stint at the top level. Seeking a second chance, Renwick trained with Richmond the following year and appeared in practice matches at Punt Road in 1954, but he could not force his way onto their senior list.
