Bio
A foundation player for St Kilda, Reg Stewart secured his place in history by booting the club's first-ever goal in the VFL competition during the opening round of the 1897 season against Collingwood. Operative primarily as a forward during a bleak era for the Saints, Stewart managed seven goals across 15 appearances as the club struggled to find its footing in the new league, losing every match during his two-year tenure. He featured regularly throughout the inaugural season but made only sporadic appearances in 1898 before his top-level career concluded.
