Bio
A professional sprinter and accomplished VFA footballer, Reg Taylor arrived at North Melbourne with a reputation for searing pace and on-field leadership. Originally from Eaglehawk, he established himself as a standout centreman at Williamstown, where he rose to the vice-captaincy and won the Bruthen Gift sprint prior to his VFL call-up. Taylor broke into the Shinboners' lineup for the opening three rounds of the 1936 season but struggled to retain his place in the senior side. After a brief stint in the reserves, he requested a clearance back to Williamstown midway through the year, playing out the remainder of his career in the Association.
