Bio
Recruited from the renowned football nursery of Assumption College, Renato Serafini was a tall key forward who established a family legacy at Fitzroy ahead of his younger brother, Lions Team of the Century defender Laurie Serafini. A strong overhead mark and accurate kick, he served as a central figure in the Lions' attack during the 1970s, most notably topping the club's goalkicking in 1975 with 34 majors. While the team often struggled during his tenure, he provided a reliable target up forward before eventually crossing to Carlton in 1977. He played a handful of games for the Blues as a depth player to close out his VFL career, eventually moving on to the VFA where he became a prolific goal-scorer for Frankston.
