Bio
Recruited from Otway Rovers, Rex Deeath arrived at Kardinia Park as a mature-age prospect and made his senior debut for Geelong in the opening round of the 1974 season. Standing 188cm, he was capable of playing as a tall forward or utility, offering a physical presence in a Cats side that was attempting to rebuild under coach Rodney Olsson. Despite his experience in country football, Deeath found it difficult to secure a permanent position in the senior lineup, managing nine games in his first year and adding just four more in 1975 before his brief VFL career concluded.
