Recruited from North Adelaide with pick 65 in the 2008 National Draft, Rhys O'Keeffe was a dashing defender noted for his piercing left-foot kick and ability to break lines from half-back. His five-season tenure at Princes Park was defined largely by persistent injury setbacks, particularly ongoing hip issues that delayed his debut until Round 14, 2011. Despite being delisted and subsequently re-rookied by the Blues ahead of the 2012 season to offer him a second chance, he struggled to break into the senior side consistently amidst competition for defensive spots. O'Keeffe managed just three senior appearances before being permanently delisted at the conclusion of the 2013 season.
