Bio
Recruited from Noble Park, Rick Norman was a versatile forward who holds a unique place in VFL history despite a relatively brief career. He made his senior debut for North Melbourne in the opening round of 1985—the league's first-ever Friday night fixture—but sustained a hamstring injury that restricted him to a single disposal and sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Norman returned to feature regularly in 1986, booting 10 goals in 11 games, before moving north to join the Brisbane Bears for their inaugural campaign. He managed just one senior appearance for the new club, playing against Fitzroy at Carrara, and later continued his football journey in Queensland with Morningside.
