Bio
A testament to persistence, Robbie McComb earned his shot at the elite level as a mature-age recruit after dominating the state league competition. Having spent several seasons honing his craft with the Footscray VFL side, culminating in a best and fairest victory in 2021, he was elevated to the Western Bulldogs' senior list via the Rookie Draft at age 26. A hard-running midfielder capable of pushing forward, McComb was known for his endurance and ball-winning ability in the VFL, though he was often deployed on a wing or half-forward flank at the top level to accommodate the Bulldogs' star-studded engine room. Despite managing 18 appearances across two seasons, he found it difficult to translate his prolific lower-level form into consistent senior output and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2023 season.
