Bio
Hailing from the Horsham Imperials, Robert Amos was a pacy wingman who offered Essendon speed and reliable delivery during the mid-1970s. Making his debut as a teenager, he quickly established himself as a player who read the play well and possessed a strong overhead mark for his size. Amos was a consistent figure in the Bombers' lineup until a severe knee injury in 1976 wiped out his entire 1977 campaign. He battled his way back into the seniors but found opportunities limited upon his return, managing just a few appearances in his final years at Windy Hill. Seeking to revitalize his career, he switched to the Western Bulldogs in 1980, but persistent knee troubles restricted him to the reserves and ultimately forced his retirement without adding to his senior game tally at his second club.
