Bio
Recruited from the Victorian amateur ranks via Old Scotch, Robert McKenzie joined Melbourne during a difficult transitional period for the club as it adjusted to life after the Norm Smith era. Operating primarily as a rover and forward pocket, he was a nimble small utility capable of resting in attack and hitting the scoreboard when required. After breaking into the senior side in 1969, he enjoyed his most consistent run of form over the subsequent two seasons, providing depth to the Demons' midfield rotation. However, he struggled to permanently cement a spot in the starting eighteen and his VFL career concluded at the end of the 1972 season.
