Bio
Recruited from the ACT, Robert Neill initially broke into the league with the Sydney Swans but is most often recalled as a component of the historic trade that sent Tony Lockett to the Harbour City. Neill moved to St Kilda in the exchange, where he established himself as a versatile utility capable of playing across half-back or through the midfield. He enjoyed early success at Moorabbin, playing in the club's 1996 pre-season premiership, and maintained his form to earn selection on the bench for the 1997 Grand Final against Adelaide. Despite reaching the pinnacle of the season, his AFL career was surprisingly brief, ending shortly after that Grand Final appearance before he transitioned to a successful tenure with Norwood in the SANFL.
