Teams

A fringe player at VFL level who transformed into a VFA icon, Robert Percy is best remembered for a spectacular resurgence with Williamstown after his brief stint at the top level concluded. Unable to cement a regular spot in the Western Bulldogs' senior lineup, managing just six goalless games across two seasons in the late 1960s, Percy crossed to the Seagulls and immediately established himself as a central figure in one of the club's most successful eras. A robust and versatile utility who could win his own ball and hit the scoreboard, he played 135 games for Williamstown and was instrumental in two premiership campaigns, lifting the cup in both 1969 and 1976. His standing at the club was cemented in that second flag year when he claimed the Best and Fairest award, later earning induction into the Williamstown Hall of Fame as a testament to his durability and influence in the Association.
