Stats
Bio
Recruited from Glenelg where he had already established himself as a reliable senior contributor, Robert "Robbie" Thompson etched his name into history as a member of the Adelaide Crows' inaugural AFL side. A rebounding half-back flanker capable of finding plenty of the footy, he made an immediate impact in the club’s historic Round 1 victory over Hawthorn in 1991, gathering 20 disposals in a polished debut performance. Despite this promising start, Thompson struggled to cement a permanent spot in Graham Cornes' defensive rotation, managing just five senior appearances in the national competition before being delisted during the 1992 season. He subsequently returned to the Bays in the SANFL, where he finished his career as a respected centurion.
