Bio
A towering local product recruited from Jacana, Rod Dell stood an imposing 196cm (6ft 5in), making him one of the tallest players in the VFL upon his arrival at Arden Street. Primarily a ruckman capable of drifting forward to hit the scoreboard, Dell showed immediate promise in his debut 1965 season where he played 10 games and booted seven goals. However, the giant big man struggled to replicate that early continuity, spending the remainder of his five-year tenure on the fringe of senior selection. He ultimately served as a depth ruckman for the Kangaroos, managing just eight sporadic appearances over his final four seasons before departing the VFL scene.
