Bio
Recruited from Seaford, Rodney Wright originally broke into the VFL with North Melbourne, joining a Kangaroos squad still populated by premiership stars from the 1970s. Finding consistent senior opportunities difficult amidst a formidable midfield, the rover crossed to Melbourne prior to the 1983 season in search of greater game time. At the Demons, Wright became a regular contributor as a rotation midfielder and small forward, playing the bulk of his career in red and blue during a lean period for the club. While never a headline star, he carved out a respectable tenure as a serviceable on-baller before departing the league following the 1986 season.
