Bio
Recruited from Sunbury, Roger Podolczak was a lifelong North Melbourne supporter who lived out a childhood dream by joining the club fresh off their 1977 premiership triumph. A diminutive rover and small forward standing just 177cm, he possessed a natural eye for the big sticks, managing 13 goals from his 15 senior appearances. However, Podolczak's career was defined by the sheer difficulty of cracking the senior side during the Ron Barassi era, where he was stuck behind stars like Wayne Schimmelbusch and Malcolm Blight in the pecking order. He spent four seasons at Arden Street as a fringe player, providing depth to a powerhouse list before finishing his VFL tenure at the end of 1981.
