Bio
Recruited from Shepparton, Roland Crosby was a powerful, solidly built player who overcame a serious childhood battle with rheumatic fever to reach the elite level. Known as "Rugged Rowland" for his physical approach, he managed 10 games for North Melbourne across two seasons, often utilized for his raw strength and competitive nature. Despite showing he could handle the rigours of VFL football, the pull of home proved too strong, and he voluntarily returned to the Goulburn Valley after the 1964 season. While his time at Arden Street was brief, Crosby cemented a legacy as a country football icon, eventually coaching Lemnos to a historic premiership and earning induction into the Goulburn Valley League Hall of Fame.
