Bio
A towering ruckman standing at 204cm, Romano Negri originally hailed from Tasmania and spent a season on Hawthorn’s list in 1984 without breaking into the senior side. Seeking new opportunities, he moved to the SANFL to join Woodville, where he established himself as a premier big man, winning a best and fairest and captaining the club in its final two seasons before the Eagles merger. His dominance at state level earned him a spot on the Adelaide Crows' inaugural list, where he famously led the ruck in the club's first-ever AFL match against his former side, Hawthorn. Despite a promising start that included a Brownlow polling performance against Sydney in 1991, his top-level career was limited to just six games, eventually making way for the next generation of Crows talls before retiring from the national league.
