Bio
Recruited from Mulgrave, Ron Cotton was a mid-sized utility who played a brief stint with South Melbourne during the 1963 VFL season. He earned his opportunity late in the year, making his debut in Round 15 and holding his spot in the senior side for the final four matches of the season. Standing 179cm, Cotton was tested at the top level as the Swans looked to build depth, but he was unable to consolidate a permanent position at the Lake Oval beyond that year. His run of games to close out the 1963 season constituted his entire VFL career.
