Bio
A diminutive rover standing just 171cm, Ron Digney emerged as a forward-half option for South Melbourne during the early 1950s. He broke into the senior lineup late in the 1951 season but spent the majority of his tenure battling for selection, eventually earning his most sustained run of matches in the middle of 1952. Known for his light frame and ability to crumb at the feet of the packs, Digney played primarily as a resting rover or forward pocket, managing to hit the scoreboard twice during his brief opportunities. Despite his persistence, he was unable to secure a permanent place in the Swans' senior side, finishing his VFL career with nine games over three seasons before departing the club following a solitary appearance in 1953.
