Bio
Recruited from local club Spotswood, Ron Fenton was a tall forward who made an immediate impression upon breaking into the Footscray lineup. He debuted in the opening round of the 1970 season against Fitzroy, booting three goals in a performance that showcased his potential as a marking target inside 50. Standing 185cm, Fenton possessed the size to play as a key target in attack and maintained a healthy strike rate of better than a goal a game throughout his short stint at the Western Oval. Although he showed early promise playing alongside club legends during the end of the Ted Whitten era, his VFL career was ultimately brief, concluding after just 11 appearances across two seasons.
