Bio
Arriving at Melbourne during the tumultuous war years, Ron Hall was a sturdy key defender recruited from VFA club Brighton. His brief VFL career was heavily restricted by his service in the Army; he spent significant time stationed in Sydney where he kept fit playing for St George, only donning the Red and Blue when military leave permitted. Standing 185cm, Hall was capable of holding down centre half-back or full-back, filling a vital structural role for the Demons during a period of significant list instability. After managing just 17 games over four fragmented seasons, he was cleared back to Brighton midway through 1947, where he immediately slotted back into the defence and remained a loyal servant of the club for several years.
