Stats
Bio
Recruited from local club Sunshine, Ron Howard was a capable half-forward who played 30 games for Footscray during the late 1950s. Standing 180cm, he proved to be a handy avenue to goal for the Bulldogs, booting 22 majors across his three-season tenure and showing promise as a supporting attacking option. Despite his ability to hit the scoreboard, Howard struggled to cement a permanent spot in a rapidly improving lineup that was building toward success. His career is often remembered for its agonising timing; he departed the club at the end of the 1960 season, missing out on Footscray's historic 1961 premiership triumph by a single year, marking him as one of the hard-luck stories of the club's golden era.
