Bio
Ron "Snowy" McLeod was a diminutive, fair-haired winger and rover whose career was defined by his resilience during the tumultuous World War II era. Recruited from South Kensington, he initially broke into the North Melbourne senior side in 1936, showing early promise as a fleet-footed flanker at Arden Street before crossing to St Kilda following a clearance dispute in 1939. His time at the Junction Oval was heavily fragmented by military service, which cost him the prime years of his athletic life and forced him to miss the entirety of the 1942, 1943, and 1945 seasons. Despite these significant interruptions, McLeod remained a serviceable contributor for the Saints when available, utilising his pace and goal sense to rotate through the midfield and forward line. After his VFL tenure concluded, he extended his football journey by joining Brunswick in the VFA.
